World Refugee Day - Standing for Welcome

Are you so overwhelmed by the news nowadays that it’s hard to keep up with each new policy affecting refugees and immigrants? Concerned about our country’s decisive turn away from welcome, and toward increasingly harsh treatment of those seeking safety in the United States? Looking for ways to plug into advocacy efforts alongside people who share your values?

On World Refugee Day, join an open meeting of HIAS Action DC, a network of people in their 20s and 30s who are committed to speaking out for refugees. At the meeting, we’ll hear from informative and inspiring speakers about critical policies affecting refugees and asylum seekers, prepare to lift up a pro-refugee voice in the lead-up to the 2018 midterm elections, and strategize about how to grow our movement, based on Jewish values and history.
