North Texas Virtual World Refugee Day Celebration

June 20th marks World Refugee Day across the globe to honor the courage, strength and determination of women, men and children forced to flee their homes under the threat of persecution, conflict and violence.

This World Refugee Day, the refugee resettlement agencies of North Texas are coming together virtually across the DFW metroplex to celebrate the thousands of refugees in North Texas! Join us via Zoom with presentations that include a cooking demonstration, musical performances, language lessons, a celebration of 2020 high school graduates who started their lives in America as refugees, and other exciting activities.

Every year, thousands of refugees from all over the world resettle in the DFW area with the help of Catholic Charities of Dallas, Catholic Charities of Fort Worth, International Rescue Committee in Dallas, Refugee Services of Texas, and World Relief of North Texas. Since 1975, refugees have been rebuilding their lives and contributing to our cities in many ways. For that reason, we honor and celebrate their strength and perseverance on World Refugee Day!
